Who can be a Host Company?

ACI targets companies who come from non-tourism dependent, emerging industries engaged in, but not limited to:

  • Aerospace

  • Agri-Tech

  • Aquaculture

  • Clean Energy

  • Creative Industries

  • Healthcare

  • Local Food Production and Manufacturing

  • Manufacturing

  • Natural Resource Management

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields

  • Smart, Sustainable Communities

  • Technology, Cyber Security

  • Waste Reduction Services

What does a Host Company do?

During the program period beginning in September and extending to December 15, 2020, a host company:

  • Participates in an orientation session

  • Provides on-the-job training and work experience 

  • Supervises daily performance of Participants

  • Mentors Participants to contribute to the success of the company

  • Approves timesheets and other reports as required

How does a Host Company benefit from participating in ACI?

A Host Company will receive

  • A subsidized full-time or part-time Participant (or Participants) who can contribute to the success of your company, bringing you into the team of organizations helping to diversify and rebuild Hawaii’s state economy

  • Guidance from the Program Team to design and monitor the internship and its goals 

  • Administrative help from Altres to make this a turnkey solution from start to end

  • Monthly reimbursement for mentoring and training each Participant and providing them with an enriching experience

  • Training and certification resources to help your Participant get up-to-speed quickly and add value to your company
