Higher Skills Academy and Microsoft Training

As part of this internship, the Economic Development Alliance of Hawaii as well as our partner Microsoft will offer opportunities to grow your spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional discipline to grow into the leader you were meant to be.

HIGHER SKILLS ACADEMY is based upon revered kupuna Auntie Pilahi Pakiʻs Aloha Response. You will learn the discipline of exercises using the definitions of Akahai, Lokahi, Oluolu, Haahaa, and Ahonui (ALOHA).

MICROSOFT has committed to help retool, up-skill, and train 25 million displaced workers in the United States. Our partnership with Microsoft in Hawaii will help you to obtain the training you need to pursue your purpose with confidence.

Besides a required 90-minute opening orientation, the Higher Skills Academy and Microsoft Training consists of 5 weeks of self-guided reflection.

  • The first couple of weeks will ask you to listen, open up, and appreciate self control and observation.

  • The third week will ask you to focus on doing things through Grace.

  • The fourth week is about Gentleness

  • The fifth week is about Connection and finding connections.

Concurrent with the third week of the Higher Skills Academy, you can begin Microsoft Trainings:

  • Week 3: How to use Microsoft Word and prepare a resume

  • Week 4: How to use Linked In

  • Week 5: Office 365 Suite - Opening the Door to Workplace Readiness

  • Week 6 and beyond:   you explore the Microsoft suite of trainings of interest to you

You must enroll in and choose a date to begin your Higher Skills Academy and Microsoft Training.
